Fully Automated Digestion/Analysis for Hg
The NIC RA-4500 Mercury Analyzer is the latest development in fully automated mercury analyzers that can carry out all the processes from sample digestion to analysis. After the sample has been loaded, the NIC RA-4500 performs all the processes including reagent dispensing, color measurement, sample digestion, sample cooling, and reduction of the excess Potassium Permanganate with Hydroxylamine Hydrochloride. The measurement of mercury is performed by the direct purge method after an addition of stannous chloride. The system is capable of handling 80 samples per digestion batch.
RA-4500 Mercury Analyzer Key Features:
- Automated sample digestions and mercury analysis
- Discrete, direct purge of mercury from each sample eliminates carryover, reduces waste, and saves on labor and operating costs
- Detection down to low ppt without the use of gold amalgamation or CVAFS
- Color sensor provides automatic verification of permanganate strength in each sample
- Automatic quenching of potassium permanganate (or other oxidants)…removing this step from the user’s requirements reduces time/cost by improving efficiency in the lab
- Detection method: Cold-vapor atomic absorption spectrometry
- Measuring range: 0.005 to 100 ppb
- Dispensed reagent: 6
- Number of samples: 80
