How the CHL Series Works

A CHL refrigerator is built as a laboratory instrument rather than a cold box. Forced air circulation evens the temperature across the chamber so there are no warm or cold pockets, automatic defrosting keeps ice off the evaporator during long runs at low temperature, and the controller holds the setpoint to 0.1 °C resolution anywhere from 0 to 15 °C.

The cooling circuit uses R1234ze, a refrigerant with a global warming potential of 7. Components are pressure-tested above 15 bar, and every cooling system is verified by high-pressure, vacuum, and leak-detection tests — POL-EKO® measures the resulting leak rate at under 1 gram per year for a single unit. Insulation is a high-performance HFO-blown foam up to 60 mm thick, which is what keeps the chamber stable and the energy draw down.

Alarms, Logging, and Remote Access

The controller writes every event to internal memory and sends alarm notifications to the email addresses you designate, so a deviation reaches you instead of waiting to be found. LabDesk software handles data management and unit performance monitoring and integrates with CFR 21 Part 11-compliant systems where traceable records are required. The LabDesk Cloud app shows live status and recorded data from any device.
