AquaPro — AI-Enhanced Biomonitoring

Why Biomonitoring?
Traditional water quality monitoring examines physical and chemical parameters in isolation. Biomonitoring adds a layer of protection by observing how living organisms respond to changes in water quality — a response that integrates everything present in the water, including contaminants no one thought to test for.
Fish are particularly effective biological indicators because they:
How AquaPro Works
A continuous side-stream of the water being monitored passes through the AquaPro observation chamber, where a population of indicator fish is held under controlled conditions. Machine vision tracks each individual, and ZWEEC’s AI models analyze swimming behavior — velocity, distribution, orientation, and activity patterns — against the established baseline for that population.
When behavior deviates from baseline, or when water quality abnormalities are detected, AquaPro automatically triggers alerts and sends them to end users by email or SMS. The system monitors up to 20 fish simultaneously with high accuracy, and its tiered alert structure distinguishes a minor deviation worth watching from an event that demands immediate operator response.
Tiered Alerting
Alerts escalate with the severity of what the system sees, so an early indication reads differently from a confirmed abnormality. Each level carries its own notification rule, and all of them reach operators by email or SMS.
What’s Included
Configuration depends on your flow conditions, indicator species, and site integration requirements. Contact AGS Scientific for an application review and detailed specifications.
Deployed with national water authorities. ZWEEC biomonitoring technology is in service with Singapore’s National Water Agency (PUB) and with river basin monitoring authorities in Asia.
